About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Forest Grove, OR, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to fostering an equitable and sustainable food system. This transformative program offers comprehensive training and mentorship, allowing selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education, all at no cost to promote inclusivity. During a six-month residential fellowship at Allegheny Farm, participants gain hands-on experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative educational programs, and developing community gardens. The Fellowship also emphasizes the importance of food and ecological literacy, enabling Fellows to support local farmers markets and food access initiatives. Following their training, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to make a tangible impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience typically running from May to October, inviting passionate individuals to join the movement towards a just food system.
