About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Happy Valley, OR, empowers aspiring leaders to advocate for a food system rooted in social, environmental, and economic justice. This tuition-free program equips Fellows with hands-on education in organic food systems, allowing them to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, manage community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in schools. Participants play a vital role in supporting farmers markets, enhancing access to healthy foods, and engaging in community food coalition activities. Over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows gain invaluable experience, followed by a Community Action Year where they partner with local non-profits to apply their knowledge and make an impactful change. Applications are due by March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October each year.
