About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hillsboro, OR, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of advocates for equitable food systems. Our program empowers Fellows through hands-on training in organic farming, sustainable practices, and community engagement to promote food justice in a socially and environmentally responsible manner. We provide a tuition-free educational experience that includes growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, managing community gardens, and enhancing food literacy in local schools. Additionally, our Fellows support farmers markets, develop distribution channels to increase access to healthy foods, and foster collaboration within community food coalitions. Over six months, selected participants gain valuable experience at our Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their expertise in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
