In Hood River, Oregon, the Community Action Program of East Central Oregon (CAPECO) is dedicated to ensuring that homebound individuals receive the nutritious meals they require through our Home Delivered Meal Program. This essential service caters to those who are unable to leave their homes due to illness or disability, as well as individuals who may be isolated and in need of support. We deliver hot and frozen meals seven days a week, accompanied by friendly volunteer drivers who not only bring nourishment but also foster connection through brief wellness conversations. While we encourage participants to contribute towards their meal costs to help sustain this vital program, we maintain a commitment to accessibility; no participant aged 60 and older will be turned away due to inability to pay. Additionally, we may accommodate those under 60 who meet Medicaid eligibility criteria. To participate, an in-home assessment conducted by a CAPECO Case Manager is required to confirm eligibility, ensuring that we provide care tailored to those who need it most.
