About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hood River, OR, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through immersive, hands-on education, selected Fellows engage in a transformative six-month residential program focused on organic food systems, where they learn vital skills in growing and distributing diverse crops and implementing innovative community health education. They have the opportunity to support school gardens, farmers markets, and promote food and ecological literacy in local schools. Following this foundational experience, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and foster greater access to healthy food. With no tuition fees, the Fellowship emphasizes accessibility and inclusivity, welcoming new advocates for sustainable food systems in our communities. The application process runs until March, with the program typically taking place from May to October each year.
