The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in La Pine, OR, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By offering a no-cost educational experience, this program empowers selected Fellows to immerse themselves in organic food system education and hands-on training. Over six months, participants will live at the Allegheny Farm Campus, participating in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, facilitating community gardens, and teaching food and ecological literacy. As part of their journey, Fellows will also engage in a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to enhance food access, support farmers markets, and foster healthier communities. The Fellowship aims not only to advance food assistance efforts but also to inspire lasting change in local food systems. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the immersive experience typically taking place from May through October.
