About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Milton Freewater, OR, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a just, sustainable food system through comprehensive training and hands-on experience. Designed to promote social, environmental, and economic justice, this fellowship offers a unique opportunity to learn about organic food systems without tuition barriers, ensuring accessibility for all. Our program encompasses a range of activities, including growing and distributing diverse crops, facilitating educational initiatives in healthcare, and fostering community and school gardens. Fellows play a crucial role in enhancing food and ecological literacy, supporting farmers markets, and creating innovative distribution channels that increase access to healthy foods. After an immersive six-month experience at our Farm Campus, participants embark on a Community Action Year, where they apply their skills in partnership with local non-profit organizations, making a tangible impact in the community. Applications for the program are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
