In Milton Freewater, OR, the Home Delivered Meal Program, a vital initiative of the Community Action Program of East Central Oregon (CAPECO), is dedicated to ensuring that individuals who are homebound due to illness, disability, or isolation have access to nutritious meals. We deliver both hot and frozen meals seven days a week, with the added benefit of volunteer drivers who offer a friendly conversation and informal wellness check. While we encourage participants to contribute to meal costs to help sustain our program, we firmly believe that no eligible individual aged 60 and older should be denied service due to their inability to contribute. In certain circumstances, we also extend our services to those under 60 who qualify for Medicaid as determined by Aging and People with Disabilities. Each participant undergoes an in-home assessment by a CAPECO Case Manager to confirm eligibility, ensuring that we meet the unique needs of our community members effectively and compassionately.
