The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in North Bend, OR, is dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of advocates and educators committed to building a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship ensures accessibility by eliminating tuition fees for its participants. Over a six-month period, Fellows immerse themselves in hands-on organic food system education at the beautiful Allegheny Farm Campus, where they gain practical experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care education, maintaining community and school gardens, and promoting food literacy. Following this enriching experience, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to enhance food access and support community food initiatives. Applications are accepted until March, with the program typically running from May to October, fostering a new wave of food system leaders passionate about creating change in their communities.
