About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Oregon City, OR, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of food justice advocates and educators. With a commitment to social, environmental, and economic equity, this fellowship empowers selected individuals to actively engage in transforming our food systems. By offering a no-cost training experience, we ensure that our program is accessible to all aspiring fellows. Participants will receive hands-on education in organic food systems while engaging with local communities to implement sustainable practices such as market-style farming, educational initiatives in health care, and community gardening. Our fellows also work to enhance food literacy in schools, support farmers markets, and expand access to fresh produce through innovative distribution methods. Following a six-month immersive experience at our Allegheny Farm Campus, fellows will complete a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profits to effect meaningful change. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
