The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Philomath, OR, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. We empower our Fellows through comprehensive training in organic food systems without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all. Throughout the Fellowship, participants engage in hands-on learning experiences that include growing and distributing diversified crops on a market-style farm, implementing educational workshops on innovative health care, and maintaining school and community gardens. Our program also focuses on enhancing food and ecological literacy in educational settings, supporting local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives, and fostering strong community food coalitions. After six months of immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their skills in collaboration with regional non-profit organizations. Applications are accepted until March of the application year, with the experience taking place from May to October, allowing passionate individuals to make a tangible impact in their communities.
