About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sisters, OR, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to champion a fair and sustainable food system. This unique program focuses on organic food system education, providing selected Fellows with hands-on experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus. Over six months, participants engage in innovative projects such as growing and distributing diverse crops, maintaining community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into local schools. Following this immersive training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional nonprofit organizations to implement impactful initiatives aimed at increasing access to healthy foods and supporting local farmers' markets. By eliminating tuition fees, the Fellowship ensures that this essential education is accessible to all, fostering a generation of advocates committed to social, environmental, and economic justice in our food systems.
