About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in The Dalles, OR, is dedicated to cultivating the next generation of leaders in sustainable food practices through community-driven initiatives. Our program empowers Fellows to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. By providing comprehensive, tuition-free education in organic food systems, we ensure that all aspiring advocates have access to this transformative experience. Over six months, Fellows engage in hands-on learning at our campus, gaining valuable skills to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement innovative health education, and manage community gardens. They will also focus on enhancing food literacy, supporting farmers markets, and improving access to healthy foods within local communities. After their fellowship, participants will spend a Community Action Year collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their training and further advocate for equitable food solutions. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
