About Home Delivered Meal Program
In The Dalles, OR, the Community Action Program of East Central Oregon (CAPECO) offers the Home Delivered Meal Program, a vital service designed for homebound individuals who face challenges due to illness, disability, or isolation. We understand the importance of access to nutritious meals, and therefore, we provide hot and frozen meal deliveries seven days a week. Our dedicated volunteer drivers not only deliver meals but also take the time to engage in brief conversations, ensuring participants feel connected and cared for. While we encourage contributions to help sustain this important program, we firmly believe that no one aged 60 and older should be denied meals due to financial constraints. Additionally, eligible individuals under 60 who are Medicaid recipients may also receive meals. To participate, an in-home assessment conducted by a CAPECO Case Manager is required, which helps us determine eligibility and is updated annually or as needed. We are committed to enhancing the well-being of our community members through these essential food assistance services.
