About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

Located in Toledo, Oregon, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of advocates and educators focused on creating a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Through hands-on training, the Fellowship empowers participants to engage in organic food system education and foster community initiatives. Fellows have the opportunity to grow and distribute diversified crops, support local farmers markets, maintain school gardens, and integrate food and ecological literacy into educational programs. The Fellowship is committed to accessibility, offering the program tuition-free to ensure that all interested individuals can join. Selected participants will benefit from a transformative six-month experiential residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they can apply their learning in collaboration with local non-profits. Applications are accepted annually until March, with the program typically running from May to October, all aimed at enhancing food assistance and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
