The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Umatilla, Oregon, is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through education and community engagement. Our program empowers individuals to become advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. Selected Fellows receive comprehensive training on organic farming practices, food literacy, and community outreach without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. During a six-month immersive experience at our Farm Campus, participants engage in hands-on learning, focusing on growing diversified crops, maintaining community gardens, and supporting local farmers' markets. Following this transformative experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to implement innovative strategies for increasing access to healthy foods and promoting food equity. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October, providing a vital opportunity to cultivate change in local food systems.
