The Home Delivered Meal Program, provided by the Community Action Program of East Central Oregon (CAPECO), is dedicated to ensuring that homebound individuals in Umatilla, OR, have access to nutritious, balanced meals. Catering to seniors over 60 and eligible individuals under 60 who are Medicaid recipients, this program offers hot and frozen meal deliveries every day, accompanied by friendly volunteer drivers who engage in brief conversations to promote wellness. While participants are encouraged to contribute towards meal costs to support the program’s sustainability, no one will be turned away due to inability to pay. An initial in-home assessment, conducted by a CAPECO Case Manager, is required to determine eligibility and is updated annually or as needed, ensuring that we can meet the essential dietary needs of our community's most vulnerable members.
