ElderShare, located in Gettysburg, PA, is a compassionate initiative by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank dedicated to supporting seniors aged 60 and older with essential food assistance. This program provides a monthly box of nutritious food to seniors whose household income falls below the established guidelines, ensuring that their basic nutritional needs are met. ElderShare works in tandem with other food assistance programs, although participants cannot simultaneously receive the USDA’s monthly Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP). To participate, seniors are required to complete a registration form and sign up at one of the partner agencies that distribute these boxes, reinforcing our commitment to making nutritious food accessible to those who need it most in our community.
