About Renfrew Center Pennsylvania
Founded in 1985, The Renfrew Center in Philadelphia was the first residential treatment facility exclusively dedicated to helping adolescent girls and women overcome eating disorders. Over its history, the center has provided care to more than 65,000 individuals, developing specialized treatment tracks that address not only eating disorders but also trauma and substance use disorders.
The center takes a comprehensive approach to treatment, addressing both the visible symptoms of eating disorders and their underlying causes. Their team of specialists offers various levels of care including residential treatment, day treatment, intensive outpatient programs, and different therapy modalities—individual, group, family, and relationship counseling. Nutritional guidance forms a core component of their approach, complemented by holistic practices such as yoga, mindfulness, meditation, and art therapy.
While The Renfrew Center now operates 19 locations nationwide, the Philadelphia campus serves as its headquarters. Set on a serene 32-acre estate surrounded by natural beauty and gardens, the facility provides a peaceful environment conducive to healing and recovery. The center accepts most private insurance plans and tailors treatment approaches to meet each woman's specific needs.
