The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Baltic, SD, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become leaders in creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through this comprehensive program, fellows receive organic food system education and engage in hands-on training that equips them to advocate for sustainable practices in their communities. The fellowship includes opportunities to grow and distribute diverse crops on market-style farms, implement innovative healthcare education, maintain school and community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy. Throughout this immersive six-month experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, fellows collaborate with regional non-profit organizations during their Community Action Year, fostering increased access to nutritious food and supporting local farmers markets. Applications are welcome until March, with the fellowship typically running from May to October, providing participants a unique and impactful pathway to drive change in food systems.
