The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Belle Fourche, SD is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates and educators committed to building a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this unique fellowship offers an immersive six-month training experience that combines hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus with a Community Action Year, where Fellows actively implement their skills in partnership with local non-profits. Participants receive comprehensive organic food system education without tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all. Throughout their journey, Fellows engage in diverse activities such as cultivating market-style farms, supporting community gardens, and enhancing food and ecological literacy in schools.
