About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Beresford, SD, is dedicated to cultivating a future where food systems are equitable, sustainable, and just. Through immersive training and hands-on experience, we empower our Fellows to become passionate advocates and educators in organic agriculture. Our program is designed to enhance accessibility, as there are no tuition fees associated with the Fellowship, allowing diverse individuals to participate. Over a transformative six-month residency at Allegheny Farm, Fellows gain valuable skills in growing and distributing diverse crops, leading educational initiatives in innovative healthcare, and maintaining community and school gardens. After their residency, they engage in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to apply their knowledge in real-world settings, support farmer's markets, and promote food literacy. Applications for this enriching experience can be submitted by March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
