The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Brandon, SD is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders passionate about creating a food system that is just, sustainable, and community-oriented. Through our comprehensive, tuition-free program, we empower Fellows with hands-on training in organic farming, food advocacy, and ecological literacy. Participants engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they not only learn about diverse crop production and distribution but also engage with community partners to implement innovative food education and access initiatives. Our Fellows enhance local food systems by supporting farmers markets, developing healthy food distribution channels, and growing community gardens. After their training, they embark on a Community Action Year to apply their skills in partnership with regional non-profits. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October. Join us in nurturing change for a healthier, more just food system.
