Located in Britton, SD, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system by sponsoring and training passionate individuals to be educators and advocates. Through our comprehensive program, we offer a unique opportunity for selected Fellows to engage in organic food system education, empowering them to spread knowledge and support positive change in their communities. This Fellowship removes financial barriers by not charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Fellows spend six months immersed in hands-on experiential learning at AMI’s campus, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their training alongside regional non-profit organizations. Community engagement includes growing and distributing diverse crops, running educational initiatives focused on health care, maintaining school and community gardens, and fostering ecological literacy in local activities. By connecting with farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, we aim to enhance access to healthy foods and foster resilient community food coalitions. We invite dedicated individuals to apply by March each year for this transformative experience running from May to October.
