Located in Colman, SD, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship from the Allegheny Mountain Institute is dedicated to empowering the next generation of leaders in sustainable agriculture and food justice. Through a comprehensive six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows gain essential knowledge and practical skills in organic food systems, which they then apply during a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations. The Fellowship emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice within the food system, offering opportunities for Fellows to mentor others, support community gardens, enhance food literacy, and promote access to healthy foods. By providing this tuition-free program, we strive to foster a diverse group of advocates equipped to champion equitable food solutions across communities.
