The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Eagle Butte, SD, empowers emerging leaders to advocate for a sustainable and equitable food system. Our program is committed to addressing food access and justice by providing a comprehensive, tuition-free education on organic farming and food systems. During their six-month residency at our farm, Fellows engage in hands-on learning and are equipped to grow and distribute diverse crops, teach food literacy, and manage community gardens. They also facilitate innovative health care educational sessions and support local farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs. Following their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to apply their skills and contribute to meaningful change in their communities. Applications are due by March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
