The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Gettysburg, SD, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through a comprehensive, no-cost training program, Fellows gain valuable skills in organic food systems, community gardening, and food literacy, equipping them to make impactful changes within their communities. This immersive experience includes six months of hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where participants engage in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing educational initiatives in innovative health care, and supporting local farmers markets. After their training, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and promote sustainable practices. By advancing food access and community resilience, we strive to empower individuals to transform their local food landscapes. Applications are accepted until March of each year, with the program typically running from May to October.
