The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Lemmon, SD, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders advocating for a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. We provide hands-on training and support, empowering our Fellows to become effective teachers and advocates for sustainable practices within their communities. Participants engage in a comprehensive six-month experiential program at our Allegheny Farm Campus, followed by a Community Action Year focused on applying their knowledge in partnership with local non-profits. Our initiative emphasizes organic food system education, enabling Fellows to cultivate and distribute diversified crops, facilitate innovative health care educational sessions, maintain community gardens, and promote food literacy in schools. We believe in making our fellowship accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences typically running from May to October, ensuring impactful contributions to regional food systems and healthier communities.
