The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in Mc Laughlin, SD, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a just food system. Through this immersive program, we train and empower Fellows to promote social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. Our Fellowship is tuition-free, ensuring that all passionate individuals have the opportunity to learn and grow without financial barriers. During a six-month residency at our campus, Fellows receive comprehensive education on organic food systems, actively participate in growing and distributing diverse crops, and implement community health initiatives. They engage with local schools through ecological literacy projects and contribute to the growth of farmers markets and direct-to-consumer programs, fostering broader access to nutritious food. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge and skills. Applications are accepted until March for the experience running from May to October each year. Join us in cultivating a sustainable and equitable food future.
