The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Mitchell, SD, offers transformative training opportunities aimed at cultivating a new generation of advocates for a just food system. Our program empowers Fellows through hands-on experience in organic farming and education, fostering social, environmental, and economic justice in agriculture. We believe in accessibility, which is why we do not charge tuition for our Fellowship. During their six-month immersive residential experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected Fellows will engage in activities such as growing diversified crops, supporting community gardens, teaching food and ecological literacy, and mentoring future leaders. Following this, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profit organizations to implement their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. Applications are accepted until March of each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October.
