The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Mobridge, SD, is dedicated to empowering individuals through comprehensive education and hands-on experience in creating a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system. Through an immersive six-month program at Allegheny Farm, selected Fellows receive organic food system education and actively engage in initiatives such as cultivating and distributing diverse crops, running community and school gardens, and implementing innovative health care educational sessions. This Fellowship eliminates tuition fees to ensure accessibility for all passionate participants, enabling them to mentor future Fellows and support essential programs like farmers markets and community food coalitions. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to apply their skills and knowledge. Applications are accepted until March; the program runs from May to October, inviting those committed to fostering healthy food access and ecological literacy to join our mission.
