The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Sioux Falls, SD, is dedicated to cultivating a food system that champions social, environmental, and economic justice. Through our comprehensive program, we empower selected Fellows to become passionate educators and advocates for sustainable practices. Our Fellowship emphasizes hands-on, experiential learning without tuition fees to ensure accessibility. Over a six-month period, Fellows engage in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement health-focused educational initiatives, maintain community gardens, and enhance food literacy in schools. They also help support farmers markets and create distribution channels for healthy food access within the community. After this immersive training, Fellows participate in a Community Action Year, partnering with local non-profits to apply their skills in meaningful ways. Applications are welcome until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
