The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Spearfish, SD, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who will champion a food system that is fair, sustainable, and nourishing for all. Our program offers a transformative six-month experiential learning opportunity at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected Fellows engage in organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Throughout their time, Fellows experience hands-on training, which equips them to grow and distribute a variety of crops on a market-style farm, lead educational initiatives on health and food literacy, and foster community gardens. They also play a vital role in enhancing farmers markets and developing distribution channels for healthy foods, ultimately mentoring future cohorts and participating in impactful community action with local non-profit organizations. Applications are open until March each year, with the Fellowship experience running from May to October, empowering individuals to make a meaningful difference in their communities through food assistance and education.
