The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Tyndall, SD is dedicated to cultivating a just and sustainable food system through education, empowerment, and community engagement. By sponsoring and training passionate fellows, we aim to equip them with the skills to advocate for socially, environmentally, and economically responsible agricultural practices. Our program offers comprehensive organic food system education and practical experiences, including the growth and distribution of diverse crops on market-style farms, innovative health care educational sessions, and the maintenance of community and school gardens. Fellows will also learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational initiatives, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through effective distribution channels. With an immersive six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus followed by a Community Action Year, participants link their training with regional non-profit organizations to create impactful change. Applications are welcomed until March, with the fellowship experience running from May to October, ensuring accessibility and opportunity for all.
