The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Vermillion, SD, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that is just for all—socially, environmentally, and economically. This innovative program provides an invaluable opportunity for selected Fellows to participate in a comprehensive, six-month experiential learning journey at the Allegheny Farm. Fellows receive extensive education in organic food systems, and they engage in hands-on projects that enhance community food access, such as managing school gardens, supporting local farmers markets, and implementing health-focused educational initiatives. The Fellowship promotes inclusivity by waiving tuition fees and aims to foster a diverse group of advocates skilled in food and ecological literacy. Following their training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their knowledge in impactful ways.
