The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Volga, SD, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. We offer a transformative experience that combines organic food system education with hands-on training, empowering our Fellows to teach and implement practices that promote social, environmental, and economic justice. Over a six-month residency at our farm campus, participants engage in diverse activities such as growing and distributing crops, maintaining community gardens, and leading educational sessions on food literacy in school settings. Our Fellows also have the opportunity to work closely with local non-profits during a Community Action Year, applying their skills to enhance food access and support initiatives like farmers markets and community food coalitions. We believe that education should be accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition for this invaluable program. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship running from May to October each year.
