The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Blountville, TN, offers a transformative opportunity for emerging leaders passionate about fostering a sustainable and just food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship focuses on empowering individuals through hands-on, organic food system education without charging tuition, ensuring accessibility for all participants. Fellows engage in vital community projects such as cultivating diverse crops on a market-style farm, designing innovative health care educational sessions, and enhancing ecological literacy in schools. They also play a key role in supporting farmers markets and improving access to healthy foods through the development of distribution channels and community food initiatives. Over a six-month immersive program at Allegheny Farm, followed by a Community Action Year, selected Fellows gain invaluable experience, collaborating with regional non-profits to make a lasting impact.
