The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Bristol, TN, empowers passionate individuals to become advocates for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this comprehensive program offers organic food system education without any tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all interested participants. Fellows engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement health-focused educational initiatives, maintain community gardens, and teach food and ecological literacy in schools. Additionally, they support local farmers' markets and direct-to-consumer distribution channels to enhance access to healthy foods. Following their immersive six-month experience, Fellows enter a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to put their training into practice and mentor the next generation of leaders in food systems.
