The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Corryton, TN, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates and educators who are committed to fostering a food system that is socially, environmentally, and economically just. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this immersive program offers Fellows a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on organic food system education without the burden of tuition, promoting accessibility for all. Throughout their six-month residency at the Allegheny Farm Campus, selected participants will work on diverse initiatives such as cultivating crops on a market-style farm, leading educational sessions on innovative health care, and supporting local community gardens. Additionally, Fellows will play a vital role in enhancing food literacy in schools, bolstering farmers markets, and developing distribution channels that improve access to healthy food in the region. Following their initial training, they will embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to implement what they’ve learned and make a tangible impact in their communities. Applications are accepted until March for the program running from May to October each year, inviting passionate individuals to join us in reshaping the food landscape.
