The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program in Dandridge, TN, is dedicated to fostering healthy eating habits among low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old. Through a combination of nutrition education, supplemental food provisions, and comprehensive breastfeeding support, WIC empowers families to thrive. Our program not only offers essential referrals for health care but also participates in the WIC Farmer's Market Nutrition Program, connecting participants with fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables across several counties, including Coffee, Knox, and Rutherford. In response to COVID-19, we have adapted our services to primarily conduct consultations by phone, while expanding our range of eligible products to ensure participants have access to a variety of nutritious options.
