The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hixson, TN, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of advocates for a just and sustainable food system. By offering a comprehensive and tuition-free program, we empower selected Fellows through six months of hands-on, experiential training at our Allegheny Farm Campus. Our Fellows engage deeply in organic food system education, gaining practical skills to grow and distribute diverse crops, implement educational initiatives in health care, and maintain community gardens. They also learn to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, support local farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods. After their initial training, Fellows transition into a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their learning and make a tangible impact.
