The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, located in Ooltewah, TN, is dedicated to training and empowering individuals to become passionate advocates for a fair and sustainable food system. This program emphasizes social, environmental, and economic justice through hands-on education in organic farming and community food initiatives. By providing free tuition, the Fellowship promotes accessibility for all aspiring fellows. Participants engage in a six-month immersive experience at the Allegheny Farm Campus, learning to grow diverse crops, develop community gardens, and integrate food education into local programs. Following their training, fellows embark on a Community Action Year, partnering with regional non-profits to implement their newly acquired skills. Whether facilitating innovative health education sessions or mentoring future cohorts, our fellows play a critical role in fostering healthier food systems, supporting local farmers markets, and enhancing access to nutritious food across the region. Applications are accepted until March each year for a transformative experience running from May through October.
