Olivet Baptist Helping Hands is dedicated to empowering individuals in need by providing essential resources and support. Located in Austin, Texas, the ministry operates a Helping Hands Center that offers nutritional food and gently-used clothing accessible to all, regardless of zip code. Every other Wednesday, dedicated volunteers pack grocery bags and organize clothing for distribution, reflecting the organization's mission of providing a 'hand up' rather than handouts. Since its inception in 1995 by Pastor Kennedy Young, Sr., the center has positively impacted the local community, including special outreach events like the Back to School Clothing Giveaway and the Harvest of Hope Coat Drive. By addressing local challenges related to food insecurity and clothing access, Olivet Baptist Helping Hands plays a crucial role in fostering community well-being.
