About Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.)
Farmers Assisting Returning Military (F.A.R.M.) is dedicated to supporting veterans in Dallas, TX, through agricultural training and community connection. Founded by two Iraq War veterans, our organization provides a healing environment where veterans can regain their purpose while cultivating crops and caring for livestock. We welcome all veterans facing challenges such as suicidal ideations, homelessness, and chemical dependency, offering peer-to-peer training that fosters camaraderie and teamwork. Through our agricultural internship program, veterans can gain hands-on experience in farming, with monthly stipends and shared housing options available for selected participants. While our internship applications are currently closed as we expand our farm locations, we invite veterans to stay connected for future opportunities. Military discharge status is not a barrier, and we assist in accessing necessary treatments for dependency before joining our programs. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate that counts toward essential farming experience, alongside opportunities for full-time positions in our urban farm or partnering farms, equipping them with valuable knowledge and resources for a sustainable future in agriculture.
