About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Friendswood, TX, is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of advocates for a sustainable and equitable food system. Our program empowers Fellows through comprehensive training in organic food education, ensuring accessibility by waiving tuition fees. Participants engage in hands-on experiences that include growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, implementing educational initiatives in health care, maintaining school and community gardens, and integrating food and ecological literacy into educational settings. Furthermore, Fellows support local farmers markets, enhance access to healthy foods, and collaborate with community food coalitions. Following an immersive six-month residency at our campus, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in partnership with regional non-profit organizations. We welcome applications by March each year for a transformative experience running from May to October.
