The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Port Arthur, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of women, infants, and young children at risk for nutrition-related issues. Our core mission focuses on providing education about proper nutrition for mothers and their children, ensuring that participants receive individual nutrition counseling and group classes tailored to their needs. We offer vital breastfeeding support, including professional guidance and free breast pumps for nursing mothers, while educating about the importance of breastfeeding and practical tips for balancing work and feeding. Each month, WIC beneficiaries can access a variety of nutritious foods, such as iron-fortified infant formula, milk, eggs, and fresh fruits and vegetables, to support their families. Our program aims to assist pregnant women, new mothers, and caregivers of children under five by connecting them with essential health and social services. To be eligible, families must meet income guidelines and demonstrate nutritional risk, and we encourage those interested to apply in person at our clinics.
