The Women, Infants and Children Program (WIC) in Weslaco, TX, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, as well as infants and children up to five years old, particularly those at risk for nutrition-related issues. Participants receive monthly benefits to purchase nutritious foods like iron-fortified infant formula, fresh fruits, vegetables, and dairy products at local grocery stores. Eligibility extends to pregnant women, new mothers, and guardians of young children, with a focus on those whose household income is at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level.
