New Haven is a therapeutic boarding school and residential treatment program for adolescent girls nestled in the scenic landscape of Utah. The program combines comprehensive treatment for emotional and behavioral challenges with strong academics in a nurturing, home-like environment. With a family-centered approach, New Haven's skilled therapists help young women heal from past difficulties and develop into healthy, relational adults with strong life skills. The treatment approach integrates multiple therapeutic modalities to address complex needs. Girls receive individual, group, and family therapy alongside specialized interventions including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), art therapy, experiential activities, and equine-assisted therapy. This comprehensive approach helps students work through trauma, body image concerns, grief, self-esteem challenges, and attachment issues while developing emotional regulation capabilities. New Haven emphasizes personal growth through service to others, allowing students to broaden their perspective beyond themselves. The program incorporates enriching experiences like ropes courses, pottery, yoga, and a dedicated leisure therapy program that introduces activities such as snowshoeing, hiking, and crafts. These experiences teach students how to use free time constructively while building confidence and new skills. The multiple campuses feature comfortable living spaces with shared bedrooms, welcoming common areas, spacious yards, and a homey atmosphere that supports healing. As a Joint Commission accredited facility, New Haven maintains high standards of care and accepts both public and private insurance to help families access treatment.
