Meals on Wheels of Charlottesville & Albemarle is dedicated to delivering hot, nutritious meals to individuals who are ill, elderly, or recovering in the Charlottesville and Albemarle area. Our volunteers provide essential food assistance to those who find it difficult or impossible to prepare meals themselves, ensuring that proper nutrition is accessible to all. Each meal is thoughtfully prepared under the guidance of a registered dietitian to accommodate specific dietary needs, including diabetic, heart-healthy, and vegetarian options. We provide our services every weekday, including holidays, and during inclement weather, our 'Blizzard Bags' deliver several days' worth of nonperishable food. Beyond meal delivery, we foster daily social connections by checking in on our clients, offering peace of mind to those who may feel isolated. Through referrals, we also assist those needing additional support to remain safely at home. At Meals on Wheels, we are committed to serving our community with care and dedication.
