The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Franklin, VA, is dedicated to cultivating future leaders who advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. This immersive program offers Fellows a unique opportunity to engage in organic food system education at the Allegheny Farm, free of tuition to enhance accessibility. Over six months, participants gain hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices, diversified crop production, and community engagement, including the implementation of school and community gardens, health education sessions, and support for local farmers markets. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to further their mission of increasing access to healthy foods and fostering ecological literacy.
